Link Kicks Off Another Year of the Transit Ambassador Program
Application Deadline IS MARCH 31, 2017
Link Transit is recruiting students to assist in their marketing and outreach efforts to students in a program called Transit Ambassadors.
We will be accepting applications for next years ambassadors from March 1-31, 2017 with mandatory orientation on April 15th.
The Transit Ambassador Program is designed to give students a better understanding of the value of public transportation, the environmental and financial benefits that public transportation provides to communities, and how to better utilize public transit to access work, school, and recreational opportunities.
Additionally, students will get to assist in creating a marketing and promotional campaign targeted at attracting youth riders to public transportation, and help promote the Student Freedom Pass at school events.
Transit Ambassadors may come from any school in Chelan and Douglas county, as long as they will be attending that same school in the 2016 - 2017 school year and will be in grades 9 - 12 NEXT year.
Open and complete our online application (at the top of this page) by our deadline on March 31.
To be eligible, applicants must be able to attend training on April 15th and complete 30 volunteer hours by September 1st. Hours completed will count towards graduation requirements and/or Youth United Programs.
As a Transit Ambassador, you will receive a free Student Freedom Pass. You will receive training on handling Frequently Asked Transit Questions, and act as a student representative within your school and the community to promote sales of the Student Freedom Pass as a fund raiser for your school.
The Student Freedom Pass is available for any student within Link's service area, for a cost of $90 for the entire school year, and is good for travel on all Link routes. Participating schools get $10 for each pass sold at their school.
